UFC Fight for the Troops 3 & UFC Fight Night 32 Predictions- Kamikaze Overdrive MMA

Scott Johnson

The UFC will kick off the final two months of 2013 with an action packed sequence of events, with two nights of elite level MMA competition starting on November 6th with UFC Fight for the Troops 3 and continuing Saturday November 9th in Brazil with UFC Fight Night 32. The combined 25 fights feature multiple former champions and title challengers, TUF tournament winners, top 10 ranked fighters, and number of very exciting matchups.

Headlining the FFTT 3 event will be Army Ranger and former Strikeforce top contender Tim Kennedy as he battles late replacement, and Brazilian standout Rafael Natal. With the list of Middleweight title challengers growing, the winner of this bout will thrust themselves into the heat of the battle at 185 pounds.

Three days later, a Pride 32 rematch between former UFC Champion Vitor Belfort and former Strikeforce and multi-divisional Pride champion Dan Henderson goes down at Light Heavyweight. Henderson has dropped 2 straight fights after his shot at the LHW title was lost due to injury. Conversely, Belfort stepped up and took Hendo’s shot at the title, and while he came up short in his quest for gold, he has won back to back fights over top opponents since.

Number four ranked Liz Carmouche will make her 3 Octagon appearance when she battles #6 ranked Canadian submission artist Alexis Davis in the FFTT 3 co-main event. Carmouche has already fought twice for a major women’s title and nearly took the gold before having it snatched away. Davis has been working hard to secure her first opportunity, facing top level competition over the last few years and a win over Carmouche would all but secure her standing as viable title challenger for the who ever emerges from the current Rousey, Tate, Zingano triumvirate.

In the Fight Night 32 main event, TUF Brazil Season 1 Middleweight winner Cezar Ferreira faces the man he was suppose to face in the tournament finals, Daniel Sarafian. In an unprecedented move, these two top ranked Brazilian prospects will be repaired in an effort to unofficially crown the real winner of the first Brazilian season of TUF. Both men will be making their third UFC appearances. Sarafian has gone 1-1 so far, while Cezar is a perfect 2-0 including his tournament final’s win.

Also on the card, Middleweights Ronny Markes and Yoel Romero collide and TUF champions Michael Chiesa and Colton Smith get the main card started.

The 6-fight Brazilian main card will feature former Strikeforce champion Rafael Cavalcante looking for his first UFC win when he meets Igor Pokrajac. Top prospect Brandon Thatch looks for UFC win number two when he faces fan favourite Paulo Thiago, Santiago Ponzinibbio makes his UFC debut after an injury cost him a shot at the TUF Brazil 2 title, Ryan LaFlare will attempt to ruin his debut while improving to 2-0 inside the Octagon.
