UFC 157: Rousey vs Carmouche Predictions- Kamikaze Overdrive MMA

Ezz Fadel

The UFC stops in Anaheim, California for UFC 157 on Saturday, February 23rd.  It is the long awaited debut of the newly developed Woman’s Bantamweight Division which holds the queen of MMA herself, Ronda Rousey. This is a night that will go in the history books as the first ever woman’s fight inside of the UFC octagon, and Ronda Rouseys opponent Liz Carmouche will attempt to spoil the plans of the UFC in regards to marketing and building a woman’s division around Rowdy Ronda Rousey.

Although over the last couple of weeks the UFC has been pushing this woman’s fight very hard down the throats of their viewers, it doesn’t change the fact that they have developed a very solid and exciting main card to lead us into the main event.  The number one contender of the UFC’s light heavyweight division Dan Henderson takes on fellow top contender Lyoto “The Dragon” Machida. This fight could easily be the main event of any UFC event, and is the perfect co-main event to satisfy the desires of those who have yet to respect and care for a UFC woman’s division.

Also on the main card you’ve got former WEC Featherweight Champion and poster boy, Urijah Faber taking on Ivan Menjivar in a battle between top contending veterans of the sport.  Ultimate Fighter winner, Court McGee tries to snap a 2 fight losing streak against Josh “The Dentist” Neer at 170lbs. Former Strikeforce Champion Robbie Lawler makes his long awaited return to the UFC octagon, and the UFC isn’t making things easy for him as they’ve pitted him against former number one contender Josh Koscheck and finishing off the main card is two heavy hitting heavyweights Brandon Schaub and Lavar Johnson, a fight destined to end in fireworks.

UFC 157 also holds a very solid preliminary line up.  Undefeated Ultimate Fighter winner Michael Chiesa  takes on Anton Kuivanen in the action packed lightweight division. 145 pounders Dennis Bermudez and Matt Grice lock horns, and the always entertaining Sam Stout welcomes Caros Fodor to the UFC.

Facebook prelims consist of two welterweight bouts pitting Kenny Robinson vs Brock Jardine and Jon Manly vs Neil Magny in an excellent way to start off a great night of fights.
